Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant to support older Australians in Rockhampton. You will travel between client homes to provide personalised home care, with shifts 7am–7pm, Monday–Friday, and occasional weekends.

A valid driver’s licence and a vehicle are essential, and you’ll be reimbursed per kilometre travelled. The role offers a casual hourly rate from $43.02 plus super, with pre-employment checks and opportunity to make a meaningful community impact.

Qualifications

About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant, you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Rockhampton so they can continue living independently in their own homes. You will travel between clients’ homes to support multiple people each day, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01c per KM travelled while you are working).

We have a casual opportunity with shifts available between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work and no evening or overnight shifts. Key Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as light house cleaning and meal preparation
• Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar
• An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
• Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
