Job summary

Opal HealthCare is seeking a reliable Maintenance Officer to support multiple care communities in the Auburn area and surrounding suburbs. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, gardens, and shared spaces, coordinating contractors as needed and ensuring safety and high standards for residents and staff.

The role offers an hourly pay rate with 12% superannuation, permanent full-time hours, and a focus on creating a safe, welcoming environment for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, handyman or groundskeeping roles.
• Trade qualification or relevant technical experience.
• Experience in aged care or similar settings is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and maintain records.
• Support compliance with WHS, fire safety and aged care quality requirements.
• Liaise with external contractors to ensure safe, efficient work.
• Maintain clean, safe and attractive indoor and outdoor areas for residents and visitors.
