Job summary

Royal Freemasons Monash Gardens is seeking an experienced Casual Cook to join our aged care community in Victoria. Your role focuses on delivering safe, nutritious meals that respect residents' dietary needs and preferences, while maintaining high food safety standards.

You will work Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays, support a dementia-inclusive dining experience, and collaborate with a caring kitchen team in a not-for-profit setting with career pathways.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or diploma in cookery.
• Food handling safety supervisor certificate.
• 2+ years experience in residential aged care or hospitality/health.
• Ability to lead by example and train a team.
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals that cater to residents' individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, handling, and storage in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Manage stock levels and assist with food ordering to ensure kitchen supplies are maintained.
• Safely use and store kitchen chemicals and equipment in line with workplace procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to create a positive and supportive work environment.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and responsive service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Adhere to Aged Care Quality Standards and organisational policies at all times.
• Support a dementia-inclusive dining experience that promotes residents' dignity, choice, and wellbeing.
