Job summary

Western District Health Service is seeking a Clinical Support Nurse (Aged Care) to join the Education Centre on a 12-month fixed-term basis at Hamilton, VIC. This role focuses on supporting Graduate Registered Nurses and Graduate Enrolled Nurses as they transition into professional practice within aged care services.

You will provide coaching, mentorship and clinical support to help build confidence, competence and capability, while contributing to education programs and continuous quality

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated clinical nursing experience in aged care.
• Ability to coach and mentor nursing staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and lifelong learning.
• Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening and WWC checks.
• Rights to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, guidance and mentoring to Graduate RNs and Graduate ENs in aged care settings.
• Assist planning, delivery and evaluation of education programs for clinical competence.
• Support development of clinical assessment, decision-making and bedside teaching.
• Help graduates achieve required competencies and evidence-based practice standards.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers and Educators to foster a positive learning culture.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities across aged care services.
