Job summary

Bolton Clarke Coastal Waters Aged Care Residential Home is seeking an empathetic driver to support residents and transport them for outings safely. A MR class licence is required to drive buses up to 22 seats, with training available for mobility aids and wheelchair systems.

Qualifications

• MR class licence for driving buses of 22 passenger capacity or less.
• Experience using lifting equipment and assistive devices is desirable.
• Ability to use Word and Excel.
• Experience with wheelchair access vehicles and wheelchair tie down system is desirable.
• NDIS Worker Check or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
• Complete a police check.

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents and encourage participation in outings.
• Load equipment and resident shopping into the bus and fold/unfold mobility aids.
• Accompany residents to ensure safety and attend to other staff as needed.
• Assist with simple mobilisation including pushing a resident in a wheelchair where trained.
• Provide feedback to the Lifestyle Officer at the end of shift.
• Deliver high level customer service and timely provision of services to residents.
• Drive in accordance with road and safety requirements with due care.
