Job summary

Gilmour Space Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Technician - Structures to join our team building rockets in Australia. The role focuses on assembling, repairing and installing vehicle structures, using sheet metal, fasteners and precision tools on our Bowen facility.

You will work closely with Engineering, Planning and Manufacturing to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications, perform inspections and contribute to safety, cost, and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Trade qualification in Aerospace, Fitting, or similar trade.
• 3+ years of experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, marine or automotive industry.
• NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.
• Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or valid work entitlements required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, modify, repair and install launch vehicle structural components.
• Use sheet metal and fabrication machinery to cut, bend, form, punch or stamp.
• Align, fit, shim and trim parts to engineering specs.
• Drill, ream, countersink and deburr components for assembly.
• Apply sealants, primer, adhesives and protective finishes.
• Install and secure fasteners using pneumatic and hand tools.
• Operate brake press, CNC roller and PEM fastener installations.
• Perform in-process and final inspections for quality and compliance.
• Ensure work complies with procedures and regulatory obligations.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost.
• Maintain relationships with Engineering, Planning, Quality and Manufacturing teams.
