Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia in Melbourne (Fishermans Bend) is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to translate complex mechanical and fluid system requirements into high-quality design documentation and detailed installations. You will optimize mechanisms and ensure spatial fit within aircraft and platform environments.

You will apply advanced mathematical modeling and CAD tools to validate designs, support supplier activities, and drive integration with downstream production teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical component design with fluid and thermal environments.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical principles to aerospace modeling.
• Hands-on CAD experience with 3DX and related modeling software.
• Skill in spatial integration and fit within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Foundational understanding of aircraft systems (hydraulics, egress, avionics).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Australian citizenship required for defence security.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.
• Apply high-fidelity aerospace modeling using advanced mathematics.
• Lead spatial integration of components at system level across multiple perspectives.
• Support design and integration of aircraft systems including hydraulics and egress.
• Develop and document mechanical, fluid, and thermal requirements for downstream manufacturing.
