Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited is seeking a senior engineering lead for the content platform that powers macquarie.com.au. You will guide technical direction, remain hands-on with design, reviews and production support, and work with Product and engineering teams across the organisation to plan and deliver modernisation initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, champion reliability, and define how the team plans and delivers its work in a fast-evolving digital environment.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and clean design.
• Experience with content management or content platform engineering; AEM experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and ownership of platform reliability.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities with proactive problem solving.
• Confident collaboration with Product and other stakeholders to resolve technical differences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team responsible for the content platform, providing technical direction and hands-on design, code reviews and production support.
• Partner with Product and engineering teams to shape the platform’s future and guide migration and modernisation programmes.
• Mentor engineers and drive platform reliability and incident responsiveness.
• Define team plans, deliverables and prioritisation to align with business goals.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure effective communication and timely delivery of features.

What role will you play?

In this role you will lead the engineering team responsible for our content platform, providing technical direction while remaining hands‑on with design, code reviews and production support. You will work closely with Product and engineering teams across the organisation, helping shape the platform’s future while guiding the team through an active migration and modernisation programme. You will also support and mentor engineers, drive platform reliability, and help define how the team plans and delivers its work.

What you offer

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean design, code quality and the ability to work effectively with changing priorities and requirements.
• Experience in content management or content platform engineering; Adobe Experience Manager experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, setting technical direction and taking ownership of platform reliability.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and competing priorities, with a proactive approach to identifying and driving solutions.
