Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking an Advisor WA Communities to support technical communities and social performance across Western Australia, based in Tom Price. The role contributes to engagement strategies, planning, and social investment delivery, partnering with stakeholders and internal teams to inform locally relevant decisions.

You will engage with community groups, manage issues, and help deliver social investment outcomes, while representing Rio Tinto in community forums and working within Pilbara

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, communities and social performance, stakeholder relations or a related field.
  • Experience planning and coordinating projects, events, consultation activities or community programmes.
  • Capability in complaints, grievance and issue management, including clear documentation and follow-through.
  • Experience building relationships with community stakeholders, local organisations and internal business teams.
  • Ability to prepare plans, briefs, proposals and reports and work with monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

Where you’ll be working

This role is based in Tom Price, in the central Pilbara region of Western Australia, west of Karijini National Park. Tom Price is home to Rio Tinto’s original Pilbara mine and supports both residential and fly-in fly-out employees. The town has a high school, two primary schools, a hospital and a high standard of recreational facilities.
