Job summary

The Queensland Government seeks an Advisor (Real-time Network Management Support) to monitor real-time traffic operations and advise on network management priorities. You will lead data system improvements and train operators to maintain high-quality service.

Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with policy and governance, publish standard procedures, and provide timely traveller information during incidents.

Job description

Our Traffic Management Centres play a critical role in keeping people and freight moving safely and efficiently by providing real-time information, optimising network capacity, and ensuring the availability of Intelligent Transport Systems. The Real time Network Management Support team assists with maintaining clear, consistent and robust work instructions and processes to support the delivery of quality services by our Traffic Management Centres to customers. This includes monitoring and evaluating performance, supporting teams to identify opportunities for improvement, and maintaining a continual improvement culture through data reporting, quality control checks and auditing. The team also collaborates on policy, guidelines and advice relating to road network management services.

THE ROLE

As an Advisor (Real-time Network Management Support) some of your responsibilities will include: Monitor real-time operations of the state-controlled road network providing operational decisions and subject matter expertise to set priorities, monitor workflow, develop local strategies, procedures and work practices, and allocate resources. Communicate advice on network management systems and processes, including the preparation of reports and correspondence. Lead the development, implementation, testing and training for data management systems and network disruption processes. Including analysis and review of systems for quality control and data integrity. Lead the provision of training and support to system operators including Local Government staff as required to maintain effective and accurate operations of systems. Oversee the provision of data reports and dashboards, including performance analysis reporting, undertake quality control checks and reporting on both systems and processes. Lead the provision of updates and publication of consolidated standard operating procedures and work instructions. Engage with stakeholders and service providers to ensure effective responses to planned and unplanned traffic incidents and events, including suitable traveller information processes are in place. Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental policies, guideline, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
