Workplace Type: Onsite

Newmont produces metals the world needs - safely, responsibly and with care for people, communities and the environment. With a 100+ year history, we continue to shape the future of mining through innovation and strong operational performance. By joining our inclusive, world-class team, you can help shape the future of mining and make a meaningful difference.

Cadia is a major gold and copper mining operation in central New South Wales, about 25 kilometres from the city of Orange and 250 kilometres west of Sydney. The site is known for the Cadia East underground mine – one of the world's largest gold deposits – which uses innovative block caving methods to produce gold doré and gold-rich copper concentrate. Unlike remote mines, Cadia is a residential (drive-in, drive-out) operation where many employees live with their families in nearby communities, enjoying the Orange region’s excellent lifestyle and amenities.

Cadia's team has a collaborative culture built around safety, innovation and community partnership. We proudly support local towns through jobs and in-kind contributions and even run an Indigenous Buddy Programme to welcome and mentor new Indigenous employees. Working at Cadia gives you all the growth opportunities of a Tier-1 mine within a friendly regional setting – a place where you can advance your skills, be home with family, and contribute to both Newmont's success and the prosperity of local communities.

Your Impact

As a Finance Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract, you'll provide financial business partnering support across Newmont's Cadia operation, contributing to effective planning and decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, month-end support, cost and capital analysis, governance and reporting.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly and monthly forecasts for site functional departments.
  • Assist with month-end processes and analyse monthly operating costs and capital expenditure.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on cost performance and variances against plan.
  • Support compliance with Cadia and Newmont governance requirements.
  • Deliver regular reporting and respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests.
Prerequisites for Success in This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close and financial analysis.
  • Experience supporting capital management within mining or a similar complex industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office, with experience using ERP systems.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Your Work Environment

Reporting to the Lead Finance, this 12-month fixed-term opportunity is offered on a 9-day fortnight roster and will see you collaborate across site finance, operational leadership, Supply Chain, regional accounting and investment valuation teams. Flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, subject to operational requirements. Local applicants are encouraged to apply, with unrestricted Australian working rights preferred.

Why Join Newmont
