Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and investigations into reported abuse or neglect.
• Manage complex cases and present matters to the Children's Court of Victoria as required.
• Support and mentor Beginning Child Protection Practitioners in applying theory to practice.
• Develop case plans (stability, cultural, therapeutic) to ensure safety and wellbeing of children.
• Deliver case management services for children and young people in or transitioning from out-of-home care.

As an advanced child protection practitioner,you willreceive and assess reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people.Conduct investigations and develop plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. This may include taking matters to court. You will often be dealing with more complex cases and willoperatewith an increased level of autonomyappropriate forthe role.

• CommencementSalary of $100,894 to $114,476 per annum (plus superannuation)

Keyresponsibilities:

• Conducting risk assessments and investigations
• Managing complex cases, problem solving and presenting matters to the Children's Court of Victoria asrequired
• Being responsible forsupporting and developing Beginning Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice whiledemonstratingyourexpertisethrough case practice
• Determiningcase plans (including stability plans, culturalplansand therapeutic treatment plans) for the safety and wellbeing of children
• Delivering case practice and case management services for children and young people who are either living with family or placed in out of home care.

Skills and experience required

• Preferred candidates will have a social work, welfare, psychology relatedqualificationand/or relevant experience
• Ideally, you will have a minimum of two years' case work or similar relevant experience in child and family social work
• A valid driver's license (learner's permit not acceptable)
• A current working with children's check card
