The Service ensures SAPOL's operational, policy and legislative responses align with government priorities, legislative requirements and community expectations.

South Australia Police Job reference: 856626 Location: 5000 - ADELAIDE Job status: Short Term Contract Eligibility: Open to Everyone The Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Service (DFSVS) provides strategic leadership, governance, coordination and oversight of SAPOL's responses to family and domestic violence, child protection, vulnerable victims, sexual crime, intervention orders and related interagency initiatives. The Service ensures SAPOL's operational, policy and legislative responses align with government priorities, legislative requirements and community expectations. Public Protection Branch (PPB) provides centralised management, coordination and support for a SAPOL’s response to family and domestic violence; sexual crime investigation (contact and online offences); vulnerable victims (including elderly abuse); child sex offenders; child protection; multi‑agency protection initiatives; and high‑risk offender management. Special Crime Investigation Section (SCIS) is one of three sections within PPB. SCIS has responsibility for the investigation of complex and serial, sexually based crime and to support LSAs/Districts in the investigation of less complex offences, by reason of their nature, public expectation or need for specialist expertise. Significant and complex investigations undertaken by SCIS may be conducted by a declared Task Force. The Australian National Child Offender Register (ANCOR) Administration Officer is accountable to the ANCOR Registrar (Detective Senior Sergeant) and is responsible for undertaking a range of administrative functions. The ANCOR Administration Officer will provide support and assistance to police operations within the state, throughout Australia and international agencies. There is a strong requirement to work independently and also as part of a team. Working within ANCOR, the position is privy to highly protected information that cannot be released to the public. The Administration Officer will be required to respond to the diverse nature of ANCOR enquiries in a timely and professional manner and respond in accordance with established SAPOL practices, policies procedures and legislation. This includes victim and offender contact and the ability to cope with extreme, sensitive and stressful situations.

Special Conditions

  • The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
  • The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
  • The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.

Salary ASO3 - $74,095 - $78,694 per annum.
