Job summary

Larapinta Trail Trek Support (LTTS) seeks field staff to support operations on the Larapinta Trail and in remote areas. This entry-level, physically demanding role involves driving, trekking, and on-site logistics, with four 9-hour days per week in Alice Springs, NT.

Seasonal contract from 1 April to 30 September, with potential for full-time conversion. Base salary is 1,520 AUD per week plus 12% superannuation, allowances and overtime options.

Qualifications

• Current H Endorsed Licence (NT) is required.
• Advanced First Aid Certificate is required.
• Full Manual NT Licence is required.
• Completed nationally recognized 4WD Course is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Trail Transfers (2WD/4WD) to trailheads and remote areas.
• Perform Food Drops to storeroom and cache points in remote areas.
• Provide Pre-Trek and Department Support as needed.
• Carry out Emergency Evacuations when required.

Job description

Role Overview

LTTS is currently looking for new crew members to assist with field support taskings on the Larapinta Trail and across the Tjoritja/West Macs NP. This is an entry-level position that is physically demanding, intensive, and high-tempo. You will be expected to undertake numerous taskings on any given workday and work within very tight schedules and timings. Part-time or casual roles are also available. Opportunities for a permanent full-time role at LTTS and our Australian Alps Trek Support (AATS) based in Mansfield, VIC.

Crew Tasks

• Trail Transfers ( 2WD/4WD Driving on and off-road ( Hiace, Landcruiser) to most trailheads and remote areas (50% workload)
• Food Drops to conventional storeroom points and cache points in remote areas (20% Workload)
• Pre-Trek Support & Dept Support (30% workload)
• Emergency Evacuations - When Required

• Alice Springs, NT based (LTTS)
• Four days per week. 9 Hour Days
• Mon-Thu / 7am-4pm

Minimum Requirements (No Exceptions)

• Current H Endorsed Licence (NT)
• Current Advanced First Aid Certificate
• Full Manual NT Licence
• Completed nationally recognized 4WD Course

Highly Desirable ( Any one or more)

• Have a mid-level of competent hiking experience
• Completed the Larapinta Trail End to End in the last three years
• Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport)

• a vehicle driving assessment
• Extensive Reference Checks. Your referees will be required to complete a comprehensive online reference assessment
