Job summary

Osborne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide is recruiting Boilermakers for a permanent role, performing MIG and Flux Core welding and fabrication on advanced naval vessels as part of Australia’s Defence shipbuilding program.

You will read and interpret drawings, complete production tasks under supervision, and engage in on-the-job training to develop specialist shipbuilding skills within a structured production environment.

Qualifications

• Boilermaker/Fabrication trade qualification recognised in Australia.
• Experience with MIG and Flux Core welding is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• MIG and Flux Core welding and fabrication on naval vessels.
• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Completing production tasks as directed by Supervisors and Trainers.
• Participating in on-the-job training and development.
• Maintaining tools and equipment to a high standard.
• Collaborating with other trades and production personnel.
• Contributing to continuous improvement across the work area.
• Following site policies, procedures and safety requirements.
