Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne is seeking a Specialist in Addiction Medicine to join a multidisciplinary team supporting emergency and inpatient services across sites. The role includes consultant liaison, clinical supervision, policy development, on-call cover on weekends, and contributing to expansion of the Addiction Medicine/Pharmacotherapy Service.

You will work with a dynamic team including registrars, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists, manage complex addiction cases,

Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration.
• MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
• Fellowship in FChAM or equivalent.
• Competent Prescriber in AOT.

Responsibilities

• Consultant liaison, clinical supervision, teaching, development of policies and procedures, on-call cover on weekends, and supporting expansion of the Addiction Medicine/Pharmacotherapy Service.
• Supporting medical unit team with care of complex Addiction Medicine patients.
• Liaison with Mental health, Gastroenterology, cardiology and community teams.
• Contributing to research and development, timely Audits and organisation wide AOD education.
