Bayside Health in Victoria is seeking a medical consultant (physician or general practitioner with general medicine experience) to work on a 14-bed ward from 0800 to 1300, seven days a week, with on-call duties from 1300 to 2100. The role includes oversight of the infusion centre and AOD withdrawal bed.

Ideal candidates hold MBBS (or equivalent) and postgraduate qualifications (RACP/FRACGP/FARMM) and have strong leadership, teaching, and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.

Formación

• MBBS or equivalent is required.
• Post-graduate qualifications like Fellowships (RACP/FRACGP/FRMM) are expected.
• Clinical background in hospital-based internal medicine is essential.
• Demonstrated organisational, interpersonal, consultation, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.
• Valid Working with Child Check is required.
• Vaccination as per policy (influenza) is expected.
• Advanced Life Support 2 (ALS2) is required.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and provide team leadership.
• Excellent clinical communication through IT and written/verbal skills.
• Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.

Responsabilidades

• Work on a 14-bed mixed medical and surgical ward from 0800-1300 seven days a week.
• On-call from 1300-2100hrs.
• Cover the day infusion centre and AOD withdrawal bed.
• Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
• Engage in teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff.
