Our client is ideally looking for someone who can commence as soon as possible, so availability for an immediate or short‑notice start will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a designated customer ledger, taking ownership of outstanding debts and collection activities.
  • Proactively contact approximately 60–80 customers daily to follow up overdue accounts and achieve collection targets.
  • Monitor account balances, investigate discrepancies and resolve outstanding payment queries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection notes and reporting.
  • Allocate incoming customer payments and investigate unapplied or unallocated transactions.
  • Process credit card payments and assist with customer account administration.
  • Establish new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with month‑end reporting, reconciliations and general accounts receivable administration.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance team.
Candidate Profile

You're an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer with a solid background in collections, debt management and customer account reconciliations.
You're comfortable working in a high-volume environment, managing a busy ledger and proactively following up customers to achieve collection targets. You'll have strong communication skills and the confidence to manage conversations with customers professionally, including when dealing with overdue accounts or payment disputes.

You'll also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Receivable or Credit Control position.
  • Strong understanding of debt collection processes and account reconciliations.
  • Confidence managing a high-volume customer ledger and competing priorities.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and strong general Microsoft Office capability.
  • Experience using a financial system or ERP platform.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
Culture & Benefits

This is an opportunity to join a large, established business with a collaborative finance team and a leadership group that genuinely values its people.
You'll be supported by an approachable and experienced manager who provides guidance, encourages development and creates a positive team environment.

  • $75,000 + Super.
  • 12-month fixed-term contract offering stability and security.
  • Northern suburbs location.
  • Supportive manager and strong leadership team.
  • Join a large, well-established business with an established finance function.
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities to build internal relationships.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of your own customer portfolio and contribute to broader finance operations.
