Job description

VCID No: 753294 We have a Permanent Full Time appointment available.

WA Health is committed to growing the Aboriginal workforce as a part of WA Health’s Aboriginal Workforce Policy. As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 applies to this position. Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.

About PathWest: With over 2,600 employees across an extensive range of pathology and support services, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA is committed to providing excellence and innovation in pathology testing, teaching and research. We offer a round-the-clock commitment to the health needs of the entire WA community through our laboratory facilities, collection centres, results lines and on-call clinicians. Our pathology services cover the broadest range of routine, complex and rare tests, and our active teaching, research and pathology development programs assist not only in enhancing diagnostic accuracy but also in improving the understanding of disease processes and of clinical care.

About the role: The Accounts Receivable Officer processes all accounting transactions, payments, management of debt recovery and performs liaison type functions at PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA.

To find out more about the role: Please contact Wendy Houson-Smith on 6457 2770.

We are committed to ensuring our hiring processes are inclusive. If you are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person, a young person or a person with a disability seeking support with your application, please reach out to Jobs and Skills WA on 13 64 64. For the full duties and role requirement: Please see the attached Job Description Form. WA Health is committed to supporting and building a culturally diverse workforce and workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion.

We welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, young people, people of diverse sexualities and genders, people with disabilities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have valid Australian work rights. This includes visa holders. Permanent appointments may be made to individuals who hold citizenship, permanent residency, or visas that enable ongoing employment in Australia.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part of the appointment process. Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA). Any offer of employment with PathWest is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. An unsatisfactory PEHA will result in the offer of employment being withdrawn. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within PathWest and/or the wider WA public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
