Job summary

IMC is seeking an AP Officer to join the Sydney Finance team, working with the AP Supervisor to manage accounts payable, payments and intercompany settlements across APAC entities in multiple currencies (AUD, USD, HKD, KRW, JPY). You will own the exception queue, drive AP automation, and ensure timely supplier payments with strong controls.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience across accounts payable and payments or treasury operations.
• Experience preparing payment runs and reconciling bank accounts in a multi-entity environment.
• Working knowledge of tax invoice requirements.
• Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail, comfortable handling large multi-currency payments.
• Confident following up with banks, suppliers and senior stakeholders until items are closed.
• Workday Financials experience or ERP such as SAP, Oracle or NetSuite is preferred but not required.
• Experience with cross-border, multi-currency payments and familiarity with SWIFT messages is an advantage but not required.
• Exposure to banking in Hong Kong, Korea or Singapore is an advantage but not required.
• An owner, not a router, resolving exceptions yourself and escalating only what needs a decision.
• Control-minded, never releasing a payment without the right approval and always checking bank details properly.
• Calm under time pressure, planning around value dates and bank cut-offs.
• Curious about technology and process improvement, with an interest in automation.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices end-to-end in Workday, coding to the correct entity, cost centre and GL account, and routing for approval.
• Own the AP exception queue, resolving coding, matching and approval exceptions directly with budget owners.
• Handle cross-entity invoices and maintain supplier master data.
• Verify supplier bank details before any payment is released; respond to supplier queries with remittances.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and daily settlement runs with supporting documentation for review.
• Prepare intercompany settlements and funding requests across APAC entities.
• Process tax, statutory and charity payments on instruction from the Finance team.
• Set up intra-group cash transfers and track settlements across banks and currencies.
