Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader in Sydney to lead and optimise the AP function across processing, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will drive accurate invoice processing, governance, and collaboration with stakeholders and offshore providers. You will coach the AP team, implement automation, and support system enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an Accounts Payable Team Leader or Supervisor role
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and vendor management practices
• Experience leading and developing teams in a high-volume transactional environment
• Experience with offshore or outsourced service providers is desirable
• Finance transformation, system implementation or process improvement experience
• Ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and work across teams
• Advanced Excel skills with data analysis and reporting
• Experience with Oracle, Aptos or similar finance systems
• Exposure to Power BI and Power Query is desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing and regulatory compliance
• Oversee workload management and performance reporting to support efficient service delivery
• Oversee vendor onboarding, setup, maintenance and changes within Oracle and Aptos
• Ensure vendor master data accuracy and governance compliance
• Strengthen controls around vendor creation and maintenance to minimise fraud and data risks
• Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team and drive performance
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive automation and system optimisation
• Provide Accounts Payable subject matter expertise to support system enhancements and business initiatives
• Assist with project planning, testing, implementation and post-implementation support
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and outsourced providers
