Job summary

CDC Canberra based out of our Queanbeyan depot is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Regional NSW, this full-time role involves managing outgoing payments and ensuring supplier invoices are accurate and approved.

You will work with the local finance team to maintain expenditure records, build strong vendor relationships, and support cross-functional finance tasks with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable is preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong accuracy and deadline driven.
• Good verbal and written communication.

Job description

The Role:

CDC Canberra based out of our Queanbeyan depot are after an Accounts payable officer to join our team

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Regional New South Wales (RNSW), this a Full time role offering hours between 8-5pm Monday- Friday.

Working with the local finance team you will be responsible for managing our outgoing payments ensuring that invoices from our suppliers and vendors are accurate, approved through the right channels and paid on time, all whilst maintaining our records of expenditures.

About you:

• Ideally you will have experience in AP, we will need you to have the confidence and business acumen to hit the ground running.
• A basic qualification in finance or studying towards CPA
• Previous experience in accounts payable
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when working under pressure
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Confidence in using integrated financial systems, databases and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel)
• Experience using an integrated financial system
• Confidence in maintaining databases and operating spreadsheets
• The ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• A flexible, proactive attitude with a willingness to assist across finance and administration teams
