Job summary

Lawson Elliott Recruitment – Alexandria NSW is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join the Alexandria-based finance team on a 3-month temporary assignment, starting immediately. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll oversee the offshore AP team and ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices and payments.

You’ll need 5–6 years in accounts payable, exposure to offshore coordination, and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience in accounts payable, ideally coordinating offshore teams.
• Construction, engineering or project-based experience is highly regarded.
• Strong organizational and detail-focused approach with ability to manage high volumes and deadlines.
• Proficient with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Guide the day-to-day output of the offshore AP team, ensuring accuracy and deadlines.
• Code and process supplier and subcontractor invoices end to end with proper approvals.
• Prepare and finalise weekly payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve variances promptly.
• Act as first point of contact for supplier, subcontractor and project team queries.
• Maintain accurate vendor master data and support internal controls.
• Assist with month-end tasks including accruals and reconciliations.
• Identify process gaps and suggest practical fixes for smooth handovers.
