Job summary

Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation in Singleton NSW is seeking an experienced Accountant for a part-time to full-time role to strengthen financial operations and reporting. You will manage day-to-day accounting, month-end processes, payroll and grant acquittals, while building robust internal controls.

The role offers flexible hours and the chance to contribute to expanding services that improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities. CPA or CA qualifications will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Extensive accounting experience with payroll processing and statutory reporting.
• Experience with grant funding and financial acquittals across multiple programs.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.
• Experience in not-for-profit or funding-based environment with financial/compliance requirements.
• Commitment to cultural safety and respect for Aboriginal community control.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting, reconciliations and month-end processes.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
• Monitor program expenditure and prepare financial acquittals for funding bodies.
• Process payroll, statutory reporting and audit preparation.
• Strengthen financial systems and internal controls; report transparently.
• Collaborate with management and program teams to support informed decisions.
