Job summary

Hall & Wilcox in Melbourne seeks an Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time or part-time basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will ensure our general ledger and monthly statements are accurately reconciled and compliant.

This broad role covers financial and management reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, payroll, and statutory reporting. You will prepare financial statements, work with external accountants, assist with budgeting and payroll finance, and contribute to

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification required.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• At least 3+ years' experience within professional services.
• Experience across financial reporting, tax compliance and management accounting processes.
• Strong understanding of management accounting systems and processes.
• Ability to analyse issues, strategise and solve problems.
• Ability to prioritise competing workloads and deadlines.
• Proactive approach with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports with reconciliations.
• Collaborate with external accountants on statements, schedules and working papers.
• Prepare the annual income tax return and supporting schedules.
• Prepare FBT calculations and salary sacrifice reconciliations.
• Assist with the annual budget process and revisions/forecasts.
• Support payroll finance tasks and liaise with Payroll for fortnightly payments.
• Assist with statutory reporting obligations including Payroll Tax, Workers' Comp, other insurances, PAYG withholding, Superannuation and ABS surveys.
• Assist with internal and inter-entity finance administration and charges.
• Manage bank reconciliation process for Hall & Wilcox and related entities.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvements.
