Job summary

Public Sector People is partnering with a Local Government organisation to recruit an Accountant Finance & Strategy to support the CFO with budgeting, financial reporting and strategic financial management.

This temporary contract starts immediately, offering an hourly rate with super and an opportunity to lead a small finance team while driving improvements in financial systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Experience preparing budgets, financial statements and financial reports.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
• Highly developed analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Previous Local Government finance experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable, payroll reviews and bank reconciliations.
• Supervise and mentor a small finance team.
