Private Advertiser in Sydney seeks a hands-on internal management and tax accountant to join a family-run wholesale/retail steel fabrication business. You will report to the managing director and external accountants, handling payroll, reporting, and year-end processes.

Your role covers balance sheet, month-end, management reports, GST/BAS, and liaising with external advisers. Strong English, integrity and reliability are essential.

Competenze

• Australian accounting qualification with 7–10 years in commercial/cost accounting in Australia.
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Experience with GST and BAS preparation, payroll tax returns, etc.

Mansioni

• Payroll processing for 50+ staff.
• Debtor and creditor management.
• Reconciliations and month-end closings.
• Balance sheet preparation and monthly management reporting.
• Provision of information to external accountant/tax agent.
• Preparation of year-end reports and reconciliations.

A full-time position for a friendly, organised and hardworking team member to fill the role of a hands-on internal management and tax accountant for a wholesale and retail steel fabrication business and its associated entities (including trusts and a SMSF) responsible for reporting directly to the managing director/owner and external accountants.

The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional spoken and written English proficiency, equivalent to first-language competency (Australian English conventions is essential). Complete with the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

They must also must be honourable and demonstrate honesty, integrity, reliability and a consistently professional approach.

The business is a family run and owned business with the head office based in Western Sydney with the business operating nation-wide.

Skills Required

• Excellent computer skills with experience in a variety of accounting software packages and excel
• Methodical and thorough approach to tasks
• Ability to manage and report to deadlines

Qualifications

• Australian based tertiary accounting qualification with a minimum of 7 - 10 years work experience in the field of commercial and cost accounting in Australia
• Competency with the general ledger, journal entries and reconciliations
• Experience with GST and BAS preparation, payroll tax returns, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Tasks will include

• Producing monthly management reports
• Provision of information to external accountant / Tax Agent
