Job summary

Bentley Recruitment is seeking an accountant with Australian public practice experience to join a flexible team in Queensland. The role supports with financial statements, tax returns, and compliance across various client types, with mentoring from senior staff and ongoing training.

The position offers part-time or full-time options, plus up to 2 days of work-from-home for full-time staff, and study support for CA/CPA qualifications as part of a modern Xero-driven firm.

Qualifications

• Previous Australian public practice accounting experience
• CA or CPA qualified (or currently undertaking)
• Exposure to CGT, FBT, and Div 7a
• Experience with Xero preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
• Complete BAS, IAS and other compliance work
• Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and tax compliance
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and assist with general queries
• Work closely with Managers and senior team members to complete client work
• Assist with general bookkeeping and accounting tasks where required
• Manage your workload to meet deadlines and maintain a high standard of work
• Continue developing your technical skills through on-the-job training and support

About the Role

Work across a diverse range of public practice clients while enjoying genuine flexibility around your working hours. You’ll be supported by experienced Accountants, Managers and Partners while continuing to build your technical skills across a variety of accounting and tax work.
