Job description

Location: Sydney, NSW, AU

Are you interested in combining client strategy, sales enablement and operational excellence within a globally connected reinsurance business? Join our P&C team as an Account Coordinator and work alongside experienced Client Underwriters to support client and portfolio priorities across Australia and New Zealand. The role offers broad exposure, quality mentorship and opportunities to develop your technical, commercial and stakeholder management capabilities.

As a P&C Account Coordinator, you will enable our reinsurance sales and underwriting teams to execute client strategies effectively. You will bring structure and coordination across client, renewal, operational and governance activities, helping the cross-functional team deliver against its commercial priorities with quality, pace and discipline.

Key responsibilities
  • Facilitate sales planning by coordinating client strategy papers, engagement plans, and market and client analysis.
  • Monitor and support the new business and renewal pipeline, helping the team maintain visibility of priorities, deadlines and dependencies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across underwriting, sales and internal partner teams, ensuring clear ownership and timely follow-through.
  • Prepare high-quality client materials, including executive briefings, presentations and marketing content for C-suite and other strategic client interactions.
  • Support strategic account management by coordinating longer-term client plans aligned with client, broker and portfolio priorities.
  • Coordinate client surveys from nomination and analysis through to communication of results and monitoring of improvement actions.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving and standardising local processes, tools and ways of working, and by supporting the effective adoption of change.
  • Identify and escalation operational and system-related risks and issues early, working with relevant stakeholders to support effective mitigation.
  • Support governance and regulatory compliance, including outsourcing monitoring and the end-to-end coordination of relevant internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to regional deliverables across APAC by sharing knowledge, balancing priorities and promoting effective practices across Market Units.
About the Team

The Account Coordination team is part of the wider Transformation & Steering function within P&C Re and plays an important role in APAC Market Unit Operations. We support reinsurance sales and underwriting teams in achieving their commercial priorities through high-quality coordination, operational expertise and support across a range of client, portfolio and business activities. Across APAC, we share knowledge and effective practices while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

About You

You are a client-focused and proactive professional who brings structure to complex activities and takes ownership of delivery. You work effectively across teams, build trusted stakeholder relationships and remain adaptable when priorities change. You are curious about the business, comfortable challenging existing ways of working and motivated to develop your career within reinsurance. The Account Coordination team offers an opportunity to build deep market, client and operational knowledge and can provide a strong foundation for future client-facing or Market Unit Operations roles.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements
  • At least four years of relevant experience in P&C Reinsurance/Insurance
  • Sound understanding of reinsurance or insurance business processes, with the ability to apply that knowledge in a commercial environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project coordination capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, audience-appropriate presentations and client materials.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and coordinate delivery across multiple stakeholders and functions.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work across concurrent renewals, projects and business initiatives.
  • Confidence using PowerPoint and Excel to analyse information and produce high-quality materials.
  • Demonstrated interest in improving processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Strong digital fluency, with an interest in using AI-enabled and other digital tools responsibly to improve quality, efficiency, collaboration and decision-making.
These are additional nice to haves
  • Experience supporting client strategy, sales planning, renewals or account management.
  • Exposure to operational risk, regulatory compliance, outsourcing oversight or audits.
  • Experience working across countries or within a multicultural, cross-functional organisation.
  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in commerce, business, finance, insurance or a related discipline.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled solutions to improve work quality and efficiency.
