Job summary

DIXON APPOINTMENTS in City of Melbourne seeks an experienced Access & Disability professional to support a backlog of Individual Access Plans (IAPs). This role entails assessing student needs, reviewing medical documentation, and crafting reasonable adjustments for teaching staff.

About the Role

An experienced Access & Disability professional is required to support a backlog of approximately 35 Individual Access Plans (IAPs) for students with disability support needs. This role focuses on assessing student requirements, reviewing medical documentation, and developing reasonable adjustments for teaching staff.

Responsibilities
  • Review student documentation including medical evidence and intake forms
  • Conduct initial consultations with students to understand disability-related needs
  • Develop Individual Access Plans (IAPs) outlining reasonable adjustments for teaching staff
  • Ensure accurate and compliant documentation aligned to internal processes
  • Liaise with teaching staff regarding implementation of adjustments
  • Support allocation of access workers where required
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and institutional policy
About You
  • Degree in a relevant field with subsequent experience, or extensive experience in disability support services within an education or similar setting
  • Strong understanding of disability frameworks and student support within education settings
  • Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth disability legislation
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and external support services
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and work independently
  • Comfortable working on-site with no WFH arrangement
