Job summary

SA Health in Adelaide seeks an Aboriginal Project Officer to lead culturally safe maternity care initiatives and strengthen care continuity for Aboriginal families in SA. You will work with communities and partners to improve outcomes, with a focus on culturally appropriate service delivery.

The role requires Aboriginal expertise and life experience, with long-term commitment and involvement across the Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Division.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to engage and build effective relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisations.
• Proven experience in developing and planning complex and significant project work to achieve outcomes.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal health priorities and contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal women, children and families.
• Understanding of the impact of colonisation, racism and social determinants on Aboriginal health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Establish project scope, deliverables, timeframes and outcomes while monitoring performance.
• Contribute to recommendations for culturally responsive service delivery and future funding opportunities.
• Liaise and engage respectfully with Aboriginal communities, individuals, families and agencies.
• Assist in identifying partnerships and engaging other agencies to support WCHN services.
• Maintain positive working relationships with staff and stakeholders through consultation and networking.
