Job summary

Department for Child Protection in Adelaide CBD invites applications for an Aboriginal Workforce Officer. The role focuses on attracting, recruiting, retaining and developing the Department’s Aboriginal workforce, based in Adelaide CBD.

You will implement strategies and collaborate with stakeholders to improve cultural safety and representation. Open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent; ongoing, full-time position with salary range listed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HR, recruitment and selection practices with culturally safe approaches.
• Ability to coordinate projects and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with Aboriginal employees and communities.
• Ability to facilitate sensitive conversations and negotiate to achieve positive outcomes.
• Strong written and presentation skills using digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate Aboriginal workforce projects and initiatives.
• Coordinate Aboriginal Traineeship and Cadetship programs with participants and providers.
• Identify targeted recruitment opportunities and facilitate culturally appropriate selection processes.
• Contribute to cultural support and mentoring initiatives that strengthen workforce outcomes.
• Build connections with Aboriginal employees and communities to understand workforce needs.
