Job summary

The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) invites applications for an Aboriginal Policy Officer to support the Aboriginal Outcomes Strategy across DPIRD NSW locations. This ongoing full‑time role focuses on policy development, stakeholder engagement, reporting and evaluation to embed Aboriginal priorities.

You will work in the Policy, Reform and Evidence Branch, conducting research, preparing briefs and submissions for senior leaders, and building trusted

Qualifications

Experience in policy development and implementation.
Ability to analyse information and inform decision-making.
Ability to engage Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
Excellent written communication for briefs and papers.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Support policy development and review of Aboriginal outcomes initiatives.
Undertake research and evidence gathering to inform strategic policy advice and decision-making.
Build relationships with Aboriginal stakeholders, communities and internal partners.
Contribute to reporting, monitoring and evaluation activities.
Prepare briefs, discussion papers and submissions for senior leaders.
Coordinate consultation activities, working groups and stakeholder forums.
