Job summary

Two Senior Aboriginal Programs Officer positions are available within the Aboriginal Outcomes branch of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. The roles are temporary full-time with potential conversion to ongoing, offering hybrid work arrangements across NSW and salary ranges reflecting experience.

Applicants should bring a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, strong coordination and communication skills, and the ability to provide strategic policy advice.

Qualifications

• This is an Identified role under NSW Anti-discrimination Act provisions; Aboriginal identity is an essential requirement.
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community governance.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic policy advice to DCCEEW work areas to enhance Aboriginal outcomes.
• Develop and implement Aboriginal outcomes initiatives across Aboriginal engagement, governance, reporting and monitoring.
• Embed Aboriginal knowledge and perspectives into policy and decision-making.
• Monitor delivery of the Aboriginal Outcomes Strategy and drive accountability and continuous improvement.
