Job summary

The Aboriginal Palliative Care and Cancer Services Workforce Educator role at South Western Sydney Local Health District focuses on strengthening culturally safe care for Aboriginal people across cancer and palliative services. You will coordinate and deliver cultural capability initiatives, provide staff guidance and support research and service improvement in partnership with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant qualification in health, leadership, education or management or have extensive equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate educational programs that improve cultural safety and workforce capability.
• Experience coordinating cultural capability initiatives and working with Aboriginal communities.
• Commitment to culturally safe, respectful and inclusive care for Aboriginal people.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver cultural capability initiatives across cancer and palliative care services.
• Provide cultural guidance to staff and support research and service improvement activities.
• Promote culturally respectful communication with patients, families and carers.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Aboriginal communities and organisations to support service improvement.
