Boorndawan Willam Aboriginal Healing Service (BWAHS) is seeking a dedicated Men’s Healing and Support Worker to provide culturally grounded support to Aboriginal men. The role focuses on addressing factors contributing to family violence while centering safety for women and children.

• Thorough understanding of interventions and approaches when working with people who use violence.
• Experience in family violence sector and knowledge of MARAM is desirable.
• Commitment to cultural safety and Aboriginal community-controlled frameworks.
• Ability to work within a team and collaborate with external agencies.
• Willingness to undertake training and supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Culturally safe, strengths-based case management and case coordination to men using or affected by family violence.
• Use assertive outreach and relational engagement to support healing and accountability.
• Establish clear goals with clients to support stability, healing and non-violence.
• Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with other agencies for referrals and risk management.
• Support the facilitation of therapeutic and behaviour change groups.
• Ensure group work is safe, non-shaming, strengths-based and culturally appropriate.
• Keeping the safety of women and children paramount by applying an understanding of gender-based violence and risk assessment.
• Providing inclusive trauma-informed practice.
• Completing associated administrative and practice processes.
• Actively participating in training and supervision.
