Job summary

Central Coast Council NSW invites applications for an Aboriginal Liaison Officer. You will lead coordination of initiatives under the First Nations Accord and Barang MOU, working with Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council and other Aboriginal organisations to strengthen partnerships and support meaningful outcomes for the local Aboriginal community.

As an identified position, you will provide professional and culturally appropriate advice to inform policies and services, while delivering

Qualifications

Degree in Social Sciences, Community Services or related field or demonstrated solid contemporary experience.
Current Class C Driver's Licence.
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (identified position).
Knowledge of the local Aboriginal community and key Aboriginal organisations.
Experience building partnerships with community, Council and government bodies.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate implementation, monitoring and evaluation of initiatives under the First Nations Accord and Barang MOU.
Strengthen partnerships and influence organisational practice to support priorities.
Provide culturally appropriate advice to support policies, planning, services and programs for the local Aboriginal community.
