Job summary

Reflections Holidays seeks an Aboriginal Engagement Officer to connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across NSW, building respectful relationships and guiding our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan into action. You will collaborate with Traditional Owners, Local Aboriginal Land Councils and community groups to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You will coordinate cultural learning, On-Country experiences and NAIDOC Week activities while creating opportunities for Aboriginal

Qualifications

• Strong cultural knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, histories and protocols.
• Experience building respectful and productive relationships with Aboriginal communities, organisations and stakeholders.
• A genuine commitment to supporting Aboriginal self-determination and ensuring local voices are heard and respected.
• Experience coordinating community initiatives, partnerships or projects and following through to achieve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build strong community connections with Traditional Owners, Custodians, Aboriginal organisations and local communities.
• Bring reconciliation commitments to life by turning RAP commitments into practical initiatives.
• Celebrate and share culture through On-Country experiences, NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week activities.
• Create opportunities for Aboriginal businesses by connecting local Aboriginal-owned businesses with opportunities across our parks.
• Support Caring for Country by facilitating partnerships that bring Aboriginal knowledge into land care.
• Open doors for future generations by supporting employment, training and development pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
