Job summary

Beca’s Planning & Environment team is seeking a Consultant Archaeologist to deliver Aboriginal heritage projects across Australia, including renewable energy, transport and Defence sectors. You will work on field surveys, assessments and reporting, balancing client management with regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Archaeology, have experience with Aboriginal cultural heritage assessment, and can engage with Aboriginal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Archaeology with an interest in Aboriginal archaeology.
• Experience in Aboriginal cultural heritage assessment and archaeology in Australia.
• Knowledge of NSW heritage legislation and guidelines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to heritage assessment reports and excavation reports.
• Support consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders and communities.
• Present findings to clients and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in archaeological field surveys and salvage operations across NSW landscapes.
• Contribute to proposals, scoping, and client presentations; assist with project management.
