Job summary

Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service (GLAMS) seeks an Aboriginal Health Worker Trainee (Identified) to start in Gilgandra. The role combines on-the-job training with formal study to gain a nationally recognised Certificate III, with a guaranteed full-time position after qualification.

The cohort targets Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and local Gilgandra residents. No prior healthcare experience is required, but a genuine interest in Aboriginal health and ability to learn

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and provide proof of Aboriginality.
• Willing to study and obtain Certificate III over 12 months.
• Willing to work with Aboriginal communities and families.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team with good organisational skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Current NSW WWCC, Police check and NSW driver’s license (Class C or P2).
