Job summary

The Kids Research Institute Australia is seeking a dedicated professional to support an NHMRC SynergyGrant–funded research project focused on Aboriginal child health. Based at Perth Children's Hospital, the role requires liaising with government, community groups and partner organisations to advance Aboriginal health equity.

Responsibilities include coordinating community engagement, providing secretariat support, and mentoring Aboriginal students.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in health services, social sciences, policy, or related field.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills (English).
• Ability to liaise effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships across the Institute, government, community and partner organisations.
• Coordinate community engagement, consultations and stakeholder communications.
• Provide secretariat support for committees, meetings and forums.
• Support culturally appropriate communication, research translation and stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to policy, practice outcomes and Aboriginal research standards.
• Support capacity building and mentoring opportunities for Aboriginal students and communities.
• Travel to regional WA for short periods as needed.
