Job summary

NSW Health in Moree is seeking an Aboriginal Health Worker to join the VAN service within a supportive, team-oriented environment. Based at Moree Community Health Service, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support and advocacy, coordinating cases with Aboriginal communities and health professionals.

You will build relationships, work independently with a collaborative team, and contribute to prevention and health promotion across local communities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Aboriginal communities or health, community or human services is highly regarded.
• Compassion, respect and a genuine commitment to walking with people on their journey.
• Willingness to complete the Education Centre Against Violence qualification pathway.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support, advocacy, case coordination and community education.
• Build strong relationships with Aboriginal children, individuals, families and communities.
• Support families in crisis, develop safety plans and connect people with essential services.
