Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Aboriginal Health Worker to join the Aboriginal Drug Health Services Team on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on supporting Aboriginal people, applying cultural knowledge and community connections to improve health and wellbeing.

The position emphasizes flexible work options, with hybrid hours where appropriate and opportunities for professional development. A current NSW Driver Licence is required, with eligibility for transfer if coming from another state.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or relevant qualification or willingness to complete and to undertake further training as identified.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal health priorities and your experience working with Aboriginal people, families or communities.
• Outline your experience supporting clients in a health, community or related service, including how you have worked with other services or professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Applicants must possess a current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence (P2 licence acceptable). Those who hold a licence from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW licence within three months of appointment.
