Job summary

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking an Aboriginal Identified Aboriginal Family Support Worker to provide culturally safe support to children and families within our Family Support Services. The role works with a Case Worker in a bi-cultural pair model to deliver community-led programs.

The position requires Aboriginal descent, a Diploma or equivalent experience in family support, and skills in life skills coaching.

Qualifications

• Diploma level or working towards or proven experience in family support, early childhood, education, or health.
• Aboriginal descent and acceptance by the Aboriginal community.
• Experience in parenting and life skills support for vulnerable families.
• Current NT Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe and responsive support to children and families referred to Congress' Family Support Services.
• Work collaboratively with a Case Worker under bi-cultural pair model.
• Maintain data entry and case notes for ongoing support.
