Job summary

Royal Far West seeks an experienced Senior Social Worker (Identified) to deliver culturally responsive social work services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families across rural NSW.

You will assess, intervene, coordinate care, advocate and discharge planning while leading practice education and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team. The role supports connection to culture, kinship and community.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is essential for this Identified role.
• Tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for AASW and significant post‑qualification experience.
• Deep understanding of culture, kinship, and community trauma.
• Advanced paediatric child and family social work experience with case management.
• Ability to supervise students/early career social workers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, interventions, and care coordination for children and families.
• Provide advocacy, discharge planning and case management.
• Lead cultural consultation and practice leadership within the team.
• Supervise and mentor students and early career social workers.
• Contribute to culturally safe practice and community relationships.
