Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking an Advanced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker - Mental Health (Identified) to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accessing culturally safe mental health care. You will provide culturally appropriate support, basic assessments, advice and referrals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will advocate for clients, help develop and implement care plans, and assist navigation of services through community engagement

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate mental health support, basic assessments, advice and referrals with the multidisciplinary team.
• Advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and support their participation in developing and implementing mental health care plans.
• Facilitate access to mental health services through community engagement, health promotion, education and assistance with navigating available support.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with mental health providers, social support services and community organisations to promote coordinated care.
