LiveBetter in Dubbo NSW is seeking a Part-Time Aboriginal Families as Teachers Facilitator (Identified) to support Aboriginal families to build a developmentally supportive home learning environment for children aged 0–5, working with early childhood education services to increase access and engagement.

This fixed-term role until December 2029 requires Aboriginality, a current NSW Working with Children Check, a Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent, and a willingness to travel.

LiveBetter has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Aboriginal Families as Teachers Facilitator in Dubbo NSW. This position is Fixed Term until December 2029.

As anIdentifiedrole, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia’s First Nations people.

About the position

The Aboriginal Families as Teachers (AFaT) program aims to empower Aboriginal families to build a developmentally supportive home learning environment and increase access and engagement in age-appropriate learning for Aboriginal children.

AFaT focuses on working directly with families and collaborating with early childhood education and care (ECEC) services to encourage age-appropriate learning and access for children aged 0–5 years in a quality, culturally strong early childhood education program.

About You:

• Self-motivated, ability to prioritise and adapt to changing conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Empathetic and caring approach with a genuine interest in working with children.
• Experience working within the Early Childhood Sector is desirable.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to undertake travel in accordance with responsibilities of the role.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Minimum of Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent.
• Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check, (WWCC).
• Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Applicants must demonstrate their proof of Aboriginality by supplying a letter of confirmation from a recognised Aboriginal organisation.
