Job summary

NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is seeking a Discovery Coordinator Aboriginal Identified to join the Hunter Central Coast Branch. The role focuses on delivering and growing the Aboriginal Discovery Program in collaboration with Aboriginal communities, Elders, knowledge holders and partners to connect visitors with Country through cultural experiences.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about caring for Country, culture and community.
• Strong sense of Aboriginal identity and connection to Aboriginal community and Country.
• Ability to build respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities, Elders and partners.
• Confident communicating with diverse groups including Aboriginal communities and NPWS staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Aboriginal and broader Discovery program activities across the branch.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with local Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
• Support development and delivery of authentic cultural learning experiences.
• Promote opportunities for Aboriginal participation in Discovery Programs.
• Ensure culturally safe delivery across all areas of the program.
• Assist in planning, promotion, monitoring and evaluation of Aboriginal Discovery activities.
