Job summary

The Kids Research Institute Australia is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join Kulunga, the Aboriginal leadership division. You will connect families, communities and researchers, guiding priorities and ensuring culturally safe research practices.

You will collaborate with the Head of Kulunga to coordinate planning, implementation and evaluation across projects, building partnerships and strengthening community wellbeing in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as business administration or project management.
• Experience in administrative, project management or business capacity.
• Strong cultural awareness of Western Australia communities.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and support the community to achieve their priorities and wellbeing outcomes.
• Provide meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to contribute to and engage in community development programs and research projects.
• Act and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal Peoples and have knowledge and understanding of their history and cultures.
• Advise Managers and other key stakeholders and work with teams to disseminate documents on issues relevant as related to research projects.
• Support aspects of project planning, development and establishment for a range of research initiatives across the project, to ensure projects are planned, resourced and implemented to quality standards and within agreed scope.
