Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Morwell, VIC, is seeking an Aboriginal Case Manager to manage both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients on court orders. The role involves risk assessments, case planning, and culturally sensitive interventions to reduce reoffending and support successful completion of court orders.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate sensitively with Victorian Aboriginal Community
• Engage with local support services and the Koori Court in case management
• Understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and related issues
• Experience in case management practices including risk management

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and prepare case plans for clients on court orders
• Provide interventions and address underlying causes of offending
• Develop and implement cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients
• Assist the Koori Court with sentencing where required
• Support clients to successfully complete court orders and coordinate with Aboriginal justice networks
